Sandra Vega, M.D.
Dr. Sandra Vega began her studies at the University of Illinois where she completed her Bachelor of Science degree. She gained her medical degree at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. Upon graduating medical school, Dr. Vega joined the staff at Holy Cross Hospital as an employed physician where she educated local Hispanic women regarding their healthcare needs and held Y-Me support talks and informal sessions with local women. She then continued her career at Life Women's Health Center where she taught both OB/Gyne and Family Practice residents as well as participated in local women’s education programs. She returned to Holy Cross Hospital in 2004 where she implemented and served as an administrator for the OB Laborist program and was Assistant Director and volunteer physician on the Mobile Teen pregnancy unit. Dr. Vega has been a strong community activist for education and health care of Hispanic women.
Dr. Vega’s current association involvements include the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Bolivian American Medical Association, and the Chicago Gyne Society. She also serves as a Womans Made Art Gallery Sponsor and Member.
Dr. Vega is a board certified physician serving patients in Riverside and throughout the Chicago area.
